Mark Kilian
Chief Executive Officer

As the CEO, Mark Kilian leads a staff of seven at Community Business Lenders (CBL). His responsibilities include management of client relationships, business development, and serves as the liaison to the CBL Board of Directors. Mark’s duties also include policy development and regulatory oversight. He represents CBL in the Regional CUSO Alliance (RCA), a group of member business lending CUSOs committed to serving credit unions and their members through collaboration and local knowledge. Mark successfully passed the Certified Public Accountant exam and is an adjunct finance instructor for the Kelley Insurance Center at Drake University. He has more than 25 years of experience in commercial lending, working on behalf of borrowers and lenders.

Earlier in his career Mark held various positions in Firstar Bank, Des Moines, including Vice President of Commercial Lending. Other experience includes serving as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Annett Holdings, Inc., the largest privately held flatbed transportation company in the United States. Mark also owned a financial consulting firm before coming to CBL. Mark graduated from Drake University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
