Community Business Lenders (CBL) was established Feb. 1, 2005, as a limited liability corporation to meet the member business lending needs of Iowa credit unions and credit needs of businesses.
CBL is an Iowa-based, for-profit company that is located in Des Moines and can serve the business lending needs of all Iowa credit unions.
The organization is owned by the Iowa Credit Union League of Des Moines, and two central Iowa credit Unions – Community Choice Credit Union of Johnston, and MEMBERS1st Community Credit Union of Marshalltown.
The board of directors consists of five individuals, with three appointed by the League board, and one each representing Community Choice Credit Union and MEMBERS1st Credit Union.
The services of CBL include underwriting, documenting, closing and servicing term loans and revolving lines of credit, as well as facilitating loan participations between credit unions.
Loans offered include real estate, Small Business Administration (SBA) and other types of member business loans.
As a locally-owned and operated organization, CBL has underwritten, documented and closed transactions in as little as six business days.
